Friends Game

Posted in Friends Game on April 12th, 2008 06:09 PM

One of the most popular shows in the history of situation comedy is Friends. Over ten seasons, fans came to love the characters of Ross, Rachael, Monica, Joey, Phoebe and Chandler. Sadly, the show had to end sometime, leaving some fond memories behind. Fans like to have their in depth knowledge of the show tested and a Friends game is a fun way to do that.

There are web sites that feature lists of trivia questions relating to all aspects of the show. Products are also available, great for playing at parties and taking a nostalgic look at the lives of the six New Yorkers. The Scene-It series of DVDs have added a Friends game to their list with clips from episodes, questions and puzzles from all the seasons.

An electronic game developed for Playstation 2, Xbox and the PC is also available. Called Friends: The One With All the Trivia contains more than 650 clips, soundbites and catchphrases. Many of the other characters, outside of the gang of friends, are also popular and the game is hosted by Janice (Chandler's one time girlfriend), Günter (Central Perk manager who is besotted by Rachael) and Judy Geller (Monica's critical mother). There are over 3,000 questions and it can be played by one to four players.

Traditional board games relating to the show are also sold. Trivia Game is a Friends game, played as a board game with dice and trivia questions cards. There are around 1,000 questions and the player has to answer correctly whilst moving around the board and visiting different locations. It is suitable for anyone over the age of ten and there is a version that comes in a stylish, tin storage box. The Ultimate Edition includes picture cards.

A game that was part of the plot in an episode in Series 4 has actually been made into a real game. When Ross invented the game in which the boys and the girls formed teams and tested each team's knowledge of the other, the girls lost the game. Unfortunately for them, they had bet their apartment and the boys took it over. Ross had organized this Friends game into questions contained in four categories. The questions are on the subject of Ancient History, Fears and Peeves, It's all Relative and Literature. This game is great fun and has the advantage of being able to re-enact an actual scene in the show.

Online Fighting Game

Playing a fighting game online is a great way to cut loose and blow off a little steam. There are all kinds of online fighting games out there, so it is just a matter of finding one that appeals to you. It all depends what you're looking for. A lot of people like online shooting games. These can vary from space combat simulators to side scrolling shooters, to first person shooters.

In my opinion, there are a few major factors that determine which games are the best for you personally. One of them is what type of scenario you like best. Do you want something modern, futuristic, historical, or fantastic? Setting can definitely affect how much you enjoy your online fighting game.

Another factor is whether the online fighting game is a one player game, a player versus player game, or a multiplayer online game where you can challenge people from all over the world. In my opinion, the latter is more exciting, but some people like to play against the computer rather than to compete with strangers.

Of course, the most important factor in choosing an online fighting game is playability. No matter how cool the scenario, how nice the graphics, and how intense the the competition, a game with poor playability is not going to be that exciting in the long run. A good game will have intelligent opponents, sophisticated arcade controls, and realistic movement. If your game doesn't have all of these, it will probably wear thin for you pretty soon.

Another thing to consider when selecting an online fighting game is how long you want to play it for. Some online fighting games are actually more like campaigns – designed to be played for hours at a time. Other ones are arcade video games, made so that you can play them for 5 or 10 minutes at a time and still get a good game playing experience. If you are just looking for something to play for a couple minutes now and then while blowing off steam from work, I definitely recommend the latter. Playing the wrong online fighting game, after all, can suck you in for more time than you have, stopping you from getting your work done. I know what it is like to get stuck in online video games for more time than you have. I've lost whole days to that from time to time. If you are just beginning, you should be cautious. It can happen to you too!

Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games

Massively multiplayer online role playing games are not something to start when you don't have a lot of time. I know many people who naïvely began a massively multiplayer online role playing game as a way to take a break during writing a thesis, carrying out a project for an employer, or some other long and dedicated project. Almost all of them ended up finishing a late. If you are only just playing your first online MMORPG, don't start until you have the time to dedicate to it. They are so addictive that you should expect to get very little done in the first week.

Nonetheless, massively multiplayer online role playing games are worth it. Simply put, they are addictive because they are compelling. They combine the best features of arcade games, strategy games, online interactions,And real-world politicking into one seamless universe. There are dozens of them, including free games, so whatever your interests are, you'll find something that meets them.

The most popular massively multiplayer online role playing games – at least the one to get the most press – are the fantasy online games. World of Warcraft, of course, is the first one that comes to everyone's lips. It was probably the first successful massive online role playing game, and it continues to be the most successful one. Warhammer online is expected to be the next great thing, and it should be a great competition to see which one comes out ahead.

Of course, there are massively multiplayer online role playing games that de-emphasize the combat aspect. A lot of online strategy role playing games actually don't have any arcade combat at all. Basically, you do your best to build up your cities, make allies, attack your foes, and trade with other people to get the best strategic position. All wars are fought without any arcade playing action. For people whose main interest is strategy, these can be great games. There are a surprising number of people who don't want to be bothered with online combat. Another great thing about these games is that they don't require high-quality graphics cards or a fast computer in general.

Nonetheless, there is something to be said for massively multiplayer online role playing games that involve real combat. If nothing else, it increases the immersive aspect of the games without completely sacrificing the strategic aspect. The key is to find out what works for you. Try out a few different games before you make up your mind.
